Michel Freyer

I can easily say that beside my family Surfing and SurfArt are the most important things in my live. And as a surfer with no ocean close to his home, SurfArt has a major meaning in my live.

Hi! my name is Michael Freyer and i live and work in a little town close to Frankfurt/Germany. I was born 1970 and started Skating and Surfing in the 80`s followed by Snowboarding in the early 90`s.
For me surfing started in at the basque coast in France and after i was hooked i travelled for several month to Maui/Hawaii. It was such a huge influence for me . All the powerful waves, the culture and the people It just changed my priorities and my view on life.

After that i was addicted to traveling and surfing. I came back to study art here in germany and it was quiet clear for me to work as a SurfArtist. That `s where all my inspiration comes from.  After i have worked several years with major surfcompanies like O`Neill, Quiksilver and Mormaii here in Europe creating shopdecoration and trophies for contests.
In this time i was traveling a lot to Indonesia and the French atlantic coast and had a really great time. But after a while i recognized that i have to adapt my art more and more to the claims of the companies.

I decided to go my own way again and show my art at several festivals around Europe ( BiarritzSurfArtFestival, ISPO Munich…). Driftwood is one of my favorite materials to work with. I love the idea that the wood traveled through the ocean and found me to be processed in a piece of art. Also i do a lot of wallsculpture which i call The Dudes.

Yes, the Dudes. To which I have a really special relationship. A funny bunch. The Dudes surf on longboards, short boards, retros, SUP’s and skateboard.
A Dude always looks a bit like he was hiking an Indonesian jungle for months before he finds some surf. Emaciated and totally run down.

The wall is his playground and the rest to the imagination of the viewer. There are also Dudes are waiting for waves or paddle the last moment over a crest, then there are also those who
make a take-off or simply wax their board. The Dudes show every situation that a surfer can imagine. They cover up every aspect of surfing.

My goals for the future are as much surfing as possible, develop my art and teaching my two little daughters a good lifestyle.

These awesome art come from the watergirl Elise Nicole with her nice style paintings and showing us how to to live the lifestile surfing with good vibes.

The colors and the atmosphere around the painting brings good vibrations, like the wind coming from the ocean, and here is the girl art: “As a self taught artist residing in Hawaii, the salty ocean, colors of the sky, and that meditative feeling one gets from the surf envoke a gnarly passion for creation with surf artist Elise Nicole Kirkpatrick.

At just 23 years old her bright vibrant colors, and bold palette invite us all to a melt into a piece of her paradise. Long, curly, and exaggerated hair is a signature of Elise’s and her bubbly surfer girls can be found checking the surf with a longboard under the arm, ripping on a big wave, or cruising a bike to catch a set.

When she’s not poised in front of a bursting canvas, Elise will surely be paddling out to her favorite break, or exploring some local flora of the islands. Be sure to cruise your own way over to her website at www.OceanGirlArt.com and leave some aloha!
